Matsui is the most recent player to reach 500 total homeruns, having played in both Japan and Major League Baseball. The bat is a MATSUI model Mizuno Pro that Matsui signed in silver adding his #55. Item(s) featured in this auction were obtained directly from the player(s) during the 2010 or 2011 baseball season. Players were asked to donate or sign items to support Keeping Kids in the Game, a charity event hosted by Tigers players Miguel Cabrera and Carlos Guillen on August 18. Players graciously provided enough items to fill the auction at the event as well as this special on-line auction. Proceeds from this auction, like the event, benefit Childrens Hospital of Michigan Foundation, C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital, the Detroit Tigers Foundation, Fundacion Chamos Venezolanos, a charity created by Amelia and Carlos Guillen and Fundacion Miguel Cabrera, a charity being development by Rosangel and Miguel Cabrera.
